her chronicle

This is both a research project and an experiment in creating a diary in the style of a Tudor-era woman. Research notes are usually found here, and my primary journal is here.

Vpon ye day of Saint Mary Magdelene, I set ye household vnto preparation for ye coming Pennsic Iousts, ye whice we trauel vnto ys yr. Having had little time to turn my hand to anything before, I am rushed et expect not yt we will be fully ready to wait vpon ye Crown at yr iousts, yet have I managed to order ye cooks to prepare trauelling dishes, et have ordered of ye tailors several garments, ye which I have already received several. My Lord Miguel hath procured a new wagon et carriage to travel thereto et methinks we will be comfortable enow to trauel. Master Thorvald hath already sent word to vs yt an encampment hath been set vp yt we mayjoin, et I need must attend to several letters to be delivered vnto others in attendance vpon ye Crowns at ye Iousts.

Vpon ys day, I needs must set forth my instructions for ye coming trauel vnto ye Pennsic Iousts, hauing not been thereto in ye last season but in ye season before. 7 I have some worry as to my ability to live within encampment in ys season, hauing recently returned from a progress to ye fair in the bounds of Shattered Oak et vnto Wylcliffe greatly weakened by ye heat.
