Vpon ys day, I receiued of Baroness Sofonabisa a missive to inform of Viscountess Astrid of the Yellow Rose's death. Et she so fierce and bright a joy to all who knew her yt ys news seemed to stop my heart for the shock of it. Ye tears vpon my cheke feel like coals. Pithee, always inspire us, my dear friend, wheresoever thou shalt rest.

On ys day, I received of Countess Gwyneth Felton news that ye husband of Lady Ania Dahlbeg, who was ever only called Papa Bear by her but whose name I know to be Iohn, hath died of the new plague yt doth pass among us.

On this day, I had the news of Vicountess Therica Pembroke of Stonegate Manor yt Viscount Edward Zifran of Gendy, who did dwell in the Newe Kingdom of ye East 7 was most famous through all the Newe Kingdoms for his chivalry 7 kindness & ability to arrange the most excellent tournaments, hath died, 7 he was taken because of a great apoplexy suffered on the second day after the feast of Benedict of Nursia.

On ys day, I have had news from my aunt that the braue & fierce warrior, Kenneth mac Robert, hath died. Et the said Kenneth was the hosbund of my aunt, 7 like unto a father to me, & I am all distress for ys news. Et I would have it known to all 7 remembered evermore yt he was kind et gentle 7 aboue all true in his love for his kith et kin
